THE CLIENT’S SITUATION

A Different Kind of Social Platform

The client came to Zluck with a vision that cut against the grain of how social media works today. Most platforms are built for reach and entertainment, optimised to spread whatever travels fastest. This client wanted to build the opposite: a platform designed around trust, meaningful conversation, and collective intelligence, where the goal is to help people understand what society actually thinks, not to maximise scrolling.

The product was guided by a clear set of principles. Trust over reach. Insight over noise. Control over exposure. AI as a genuine tool rather than a gimmick. Community with real accountability. These were not marketing lines. They were design constraints that shaped how every feature needed to behave.

What the client needed was a team that could take this thoughtful, multi-layered vision and turn it into a real, working product across web, iOS, and Android simultaneously, with AI woven through the entire experience rather than bolted on.

THE CHALLENGE

Four Products in One, With AI Throughout

This was not a single social feed with one clever feature. It was effectively four interconnected products in one platform: a multi-format social feed, a societal sentiment analytics dashboard, structured communities with real governance, and a native AI assistant integrated across everything. Each of these is a substantial build in its own right. Making them work together as one coherent product was the real challenge.

The AI layer was the most demanding piece. The client did not want AI as a standalone chatbot in a corner. They wanted it woven through the product: generating summaries, follow-up questions, and related resources for content, assisting users as they write, powering content moderation, categorising video, and running as a full conversational assistant with saved, shareable sessions. Building AI this deeply into every surface, while keeping it fast and useful, required careful architecture and a real understanding of how the AI should behave in each context.

Underneath all of this sat the standard expectations of any modern social platform: feeds, profiles, messaging, notifications, and real-time interactions. These had to be solid and seamless, but they were the baseline, not the differentiators. The hard, distinctive work was in the layers above them

WHY CUSTOM WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE

Nothing Off-the-Shelf Comes Close

There is no template, plugin, or ready-made product for what the client wanted to build. A sentiment dashboard tracking collective opinion across societal categories, an AI assistant woven natively through every content type, structured communities with genuine governance and moderation, granular audience controls on every single piece of content. None of this exists as something you can configure. It all had to be designed and built from scratch, around the specific logic and principles the client defined.

Beyond the distinctive features, the platform’s architecture needed to support a real-time, multi-format social product at scale from day one, built to grow across versions rather than be rebuilt each time.

HOW WE BUILT IT

Full-Stack Development Across Three Platforms

Zluck designed and built the entire product. Native iOS and Android mobile applications, a web application, and a complete backend infrastructure were all developed by the same in-house team, ensuring consistency across every platform and a single point of accountability throughout.

The architecture was designed for the long term. Every decision made in scoping and early development was made with the post-launch product in mind, so that version two and version three would be built on top of a foundation rather than fighting against it.

The Features That Make It Different

Beyond the standard social mechanics of feeds, profiles, messaging, and notifications, which were built to a high standard as the baseline of the product, these are the features that set the platform apart:

Sentiments Dashboard

A dedicated analytics layer that tracks public opinion across five societal categories: economy and jobs, education and opportunity, health and wellness, politics and institutions, and social cohesion and trust. It visualises how collective opinion shifts over time and across regions, turning the platform from a conversation space into a genuine insight engine. This is one of the product’s primary differentiators.

Native AI Assistant, Woven Throughout

A conversational AI assistant integrated across the entire product, not a standalone chatbot. It delivers real-time streaming responses, saves sessions that can be revisited, shared publicly, or kept private, and offers an incognito mode for fully anonymous sessions. Trending AI questions are surfaced from across the community, and a credits system keeps usage fair.

AI Layered Into Every Content Type

For posts, polls, and short-form videos, the AI automatically generates summaries and insights, relevant follow-up questions, and related resources such as articles, books, and products to help users go deeper. It also categorises and analyses video content and powers content moderation to flag unsafe or policy-violating material

AI Questions as Shareable Content

AI conversation sessions are a content type in their own right. Users can save sessions, browse trending AI questions from across the community, and publish their own sessions publicly for others to explore, making AI-assisted understanding a shared, social experience rather than a private one.

Inner Circle

A deliberately small, curated private network of a user’s most trusted connections. Content can be scoped exclusively to this group. It is not a follower list. It is a high-trust circle that reflects the platform’s principle of trust over reach.

Channels: Communities With Real Governance

Structured group spaces with admins, moderators, and member roles, enforced rules, approval-based or automatic join workflows, member-only content scoping, and community insights. These are accountable communities with genuine structure, not open chat rooms.

Context Assist and Granular Audience Control

AI-powered Context Assist gives users suggestions and feedback while they create a post or poll. Every piece of content has granular audience controls, public, followers, Inner Circle, or a specific Channel, so users decide exactly who sees what, reflecting the principle of control over exposure.

Multi-Format Feed With Four Discovery Modes

A single feed carrying four content types (posts, polls, short-form videos, and AI questions) across four discovery modes: a personalised For You feed, a chronological Latest feed, a Trending feed weighted by engagement with time-decay, and an exclusive Inner Circle feed of trusted content.

OUR APPROACH AND PROCESS

Discovery, Then Delivery

The engagement began with a thorough scoping phase where the Zluck team worked closely with the client to map out the full product architecture before a single line of code was written. With four interconnected product areas and AI woven throughout, getting this foundation right was essential. This included defining how the AI behaves in each context, the data model for the sentiment dashboard, and the governance model for communities.

Development was structured around milestones, with regular updates and demonstrations giving the client full visibility into progress. As requirements evolved and new ideas emerged, the team adapted without losing momentum. Decisions made during development were always communicated clearly, with the client involved in anything that affected scope or timeline.

RESULTS AND IMPACT

Two Versions Live, Fundraising Underway

Two versions of the platform have been launched and are live in the market. The client is actively growing the user base, refining the AI layer based on real usage data, and pursuing fundraising to scale the product further. Zluck continues as the primary development partner, supporting new features and platform evolution as the business grows.

The project stands as one of our most technically ambitious builds, combining a multi-format social product, a societal sentiment analytics engine, governed communities, and a deeply integrated AI assistant into a single cohesive platform across three platforms.
